Exploring Munchkins

Last week in Daisies the children have been enjoying the hot weather!

On Monday Daisies went over to the big garden for a play, and the babies were so confident! They went off to explore independently, playing in the sand pit, doing some climbing and going on the big boat. They also loved watching the big children run around.

In our smaller garden, the babies have been practising their climbing skills, by climbing up the steps to the slide. They also did lots of splashing in the water, which meant there were lots of changes of clothes!

Daises also played with some dry gloop, which the babies really enjoyed investigating. They spent lots of time picking up all the little pieces and putting it into the empty tubs. The children also got messy with some finger painting and hand print painting! Some babies needed a bit more encouragement to join in than others, but they made some lovely pictures!

Daisies have said a sad goodbye to our older babies this week, who are moving on to toddlers. It's so lovely being able to watch them grow up and we will really miss them!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Last week Dragonflies have all been very hot in this sunny weather!

The children loved being outside where they got soaking wet splashing in the water! The children have also been practising their scooping and pouring. One little boy used a spade and showed good control carrying it all around the garden and didn't spill a lot.

Dragonflies have also been very busy practising their pincer grip and tripod grip when drawing. The children were allowed to use the nice pens, so Dragonflies had lots of excitement and happy faces!

Dragonflies were donated a new slide which the children loved. It was a perfect size for them to climb up independently and go down the slide with no support!

Reading stories has been another favourite which is very good for the children's development as they learn so many new things! Our Dragonflies really enjoy the rhymes book and Thomas the tank!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Another great week in Incy Wincy Spiders.

With such lovely weather, the children have been outside enjoying lots and lots of water play. They loved scooping and pouring the water which really helps to build their muscles and core strength.

Incy Wincys have been enjoying lots of role play. The children enjoyed using the tea set, setting it up like a cafe. One of the children was really engaged in the activity asking for toast and then they pretended to eat it.

The children have been playing with the puzzles this week. They were all really focused on fitting the pieces in to the right hole some of the older children had a go at some 2-3 piece puzzles.

Incy Wincys ended the week with some sticking and gluing. The children loved playing with the box, so they used coloured tissue paper to stick onto our box - it looks great now!

Have a great weekend.

Last week in Busy Birds has been full of so much fun!

Busy Birds started the very humid week off with some water play in the garden. Water play gives many opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills. Children will increase their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through actions like pouring, squirting, scrubbing, stirring and squeezing.

The children also enjoyed making volcano's in the garden with Silvia. Doing scientific activities is so much fun and such a good chance for learning. Doing science projects helps develop a child's resourcefulness, particularly their skills at goal setting, planning, and problem-solving. It also nurtures intellectual curiosity, helping children acquire new ways of asking questions and understanding the world.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Preschool have been working on developing their fine motor skills last week. Developing these helps to support the children in learning to write. The children have also been working on learning the phonetic sounds of each letter and have even started to blend some sounds together to form simple words! Preschool managed to make the words such as “mat, sat, cat, bat, hat.” The adults have been working closely with the children to support them in their Letter and Sounds.

The weather was very lovely last week so there has been lots of water play. The children have been exploring the pouring of the water using the pipes and Preschool’s new water play equipment. Preschool had a great time getting wet and really enjoyed having lots of water fights!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
