Another busy week in the Annexe.
The children have loved exploring our new playhouse, even the adults enjoyed playing in the house!
The children have enjoyed exploring the gloop and its texture. The children were getting very messy playing with shaving foam and sand using lolly pop sticks making different makes.
Inside the children have enjoyed doing an assault course crawling through tunnels and climbing on the soft play toys.
Towards the end of the week we have been encouraging the children to help dress and undress, and the children have enjoyed washing and drying babies the bath.
Have a lovely week.
Last week in Busy Birds, the children have done lots of learning!
The children have joined in some activities that encourage problem solving like seeing how tall they can stack blocks or building towers using wood of different sizes. Proper problem-solving techniques and coping skills to deal with these emotions. These skills not only aid the child through school and building new and essential peer relations, but the skills that are learned are carried well through adolescence and into adulthood.
Last week in Busy Birds also saw continued role play. Some off our little birds were very excited to see some new baby role play toys!
Busy Birds have also been doing lots of reading and independently looking at books. Reading helps to develop a young child's brain. In the first six years, children learn at a much faster pace than at any other time in their lives. Reading helps open up a whole new world for children using their imagination.
Finally, Busy Birds have of course enjoyed lots of baking!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Last week Preschool carved a couple of pumpkins, and the children talked about how and where pumpkins grow. The children also helped chop up some pumpkin to make pumpkin puree which they all tried! This helps the development of their fine motor skills.
The children also helped bake brownies and ate them at teatime. One child said, "that's the best brownie I've ever had!". Preschool have also been focusing on 2D shapes, drawing them and talking about how many sides they all have. The children then went for a walk in the front garden to look at shapes in the environment.
The children have also enjoyed playing with our new resources! Their favourites this week have been the new lego, mobilo, doll house furniture and maths resources.
Have a great week!
