  NurseryCam
As far as we know, Munchkins is the only nursery in the south west (and one of only a handful in the country) that use cameras to provide visual access to parents over the internet. Whether you're at home or work, you get to check up and, we hope, put your mind at ease.

Nursery Cam is a secure webcam facility which allows parents to view images of their children in our nursery over the Internet. It gives parents the opportunity to be more involved in their children's daily development and eases any separation anxiety.
It puts a smile on
every parent's face.
The management team also has access to view the different areas of the nursery from the office enabling them to keep an eye on the day to day activity.

Aims
We strive to offer a unique standard of care within the nursery that will exceed parents' expectations. With many additional services and qualities not to be found in any other nursery in the city of Exeter, we will have an unrivalled reputation.

Safety & Security
Here at Munchkins Day Nursery parents can have peace of mind in the knowledge that their children are in a safe and secure environment with our entry systems, drop off and collection policy and brand new fire system throughout.

Staff
To ensure we offer outstanding quality, we believe in employing a team who all hold the same belief to provide a unique high standard of care and wonderful opportunities for the children to develop.

All staff are police checked. As stated by Ofsted, at least 50% of staff employed must hold a child care qualification and meet staffing ratio requirements. Here at Munchkins Day Nursery we endeavour to exceed these criteria.

The management team have a hands on approach to sharing their skills and knowledge and staff are continuously encouraged to update their childcare training. We operate a keyworker system. This enables staff to support your child's individual needs and build a strong partnership with you, the parents, as we fully understand that you are the child's first educator.

Meals
Our daily menu of home cooked meals are prepared freshly on site by our two fully qualified cooks. We believe in real food and aim to offer all organic fruit and vegetables, offering a well-balanced, nutritious diet. We work closely with a qualified dietrition gaining advice and guidance. Drinking water is available all day for the children. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated and weaning babies are catered for appropriate to their age and stage.

The nursery is laid out over 4 levels

Our specialised
baby unit, for children from 8 weeks, is designed to cater for a child's individual needs. Equipped with a variety of sensory resources to promote early development.
The baby unit consists of a seperate sleep room and feeding rooms and the staff are able to take the babies to a private, child-friendly garden.

The baby room staff have been trained in the loving art of baby massage and, with parental consent, can offer this facility to the babies throughout the day for relaxation times. The baby unit has a separate cot room for the babies to sleep during the day

The
toddler department is a smooth transition from the baby unit, still working closely with the individual needs and sensory elements. Situated in a large area consisting of a play room and a messy room where the children can develop their motor skills. The sensory room is available to all children at Munckins.

From the toddler group, the children move on to our
infant level. Here the children enjoy a range of interesting activities and equipment and are encouraged to use good social independence skills. They have reign over two messy rooms and two play rooms with practically everything at an accessible height.

The
pre-school group has two large bright playrooms with extra messy rooms and ample space to explore, create and play at their own pace. The children also have their own quiet room and a library room where we encourage a healthy discovery into books. We follow Ofsted guidlines working towards the six early learning goals. The children even have the opportunity to participate in the learning of French, through a fun and enjoyable array of activities and are given their own book and CD so that the family can support the child in their language learning.

We also offer peer massage sessions
where the children work together to develop relationships and behaviour management techniques.

Munchkins is proud to be in beautiful settings with a large enclosed garden and a seperate sensory garden for outdoor learning and activities. For those times when it's just too wet and windy, the children are able to go to our indoor play area which consists of a wide range of soft toys, slides etc.
