Our routine consists of lots of fun and varied activities for your child to join in with. The activities are planned based around every child’s individual interests and stages of development, through regular observations and information sharing with you the parents to find out
what they are enjoying at home.
We explore different textures like shaving foam, cornflour, jelly as well as water and sand play, painting and sticking.
Alongside the daily opportunities to participate in creative play we also enjoy daily outside play, singing and stories, role play and some free play where we can explore the different equipment. All of our activities have learning objectives which are achieved through play.
This group can often be the time when the little ones are ready to start potty training. We will always follow the parents lead as to when the time is right and how to manage it, but staff are very experienced and can offer advice and guidance. Infants is often the time when we start to encourage the children to become more independent individuals. This will include: managing their personal hygiene, feeding themselves at meal times and decision making.
Many of the children in the our infant groups still like to have a nap during the day usually after lunch around 12.30pm. This is our quiet time while some children will have a rest, a
nd others will play quietly in the other room.
Children are more than welcome to bring in any comforters they may have like a dummy, blanket or beaker. We do try to discourage other toys from home just in case they get misplaced or damaged.
