The toddler rooms are divided into different areas of development where fun activities occur based on the childrens interests.
Your child will be given the opportunity to try various different activities whilst they are with us and we will let you know how they have enjoyed them by writing this in their home books. These books give you a summary of your child’s day i.e. what they have eaten, how long they have slept and how frequently we have changed their nappies .
We have group stimulated activities, such as story or song time as well as meals and sleep time all together, although still focusing on the child’s individual needs.
The routine in our toddler unit is slightly different from babies as we slowly introduce one sleep after lunch and they use sleep mats instead of cots. The sleep mats are laid out in the main playroom with sheets covering them and each child is given a blanket to snuggle up with. The children also have their chosen comforters with them too!

At meal times we have big chairs for the children to sit on. However, if either you or we feel the child is a little unstable to sit on a chair we have ‘end’ chairs which give them more support until they are ready.
Your key person will track and record your child’s progress with their Achievement Books and we encourage parents to share information from home about what your child is enjoying so that we can incorporate it also into the nursery day.
We try and use the garden every day so we ask that your child has a coat, hat and welly boots for those rainy days and sun cream and hat for sunny days.
