Messy, Messy, Messy!!

Annexe

What an amazing week we have had in the Annexe!

This week the children have been really engaged in lots of messy activities, as you know we do love getting a little messy at Munchkins! The children got really engaged in a car washing activity, this was a great source of fun as the vehicles are a huge source of fun at the moment for all of our children!

The children in the Annexe also really enjoyed playing with some sand this week too, we put a bit of water in the sand to make it more durable and the children played with it making different marks in the sand using different sized animal foot prints. This was a great way to introduce early understanding of language around size, big and small.

Busy Birds

This week we have had so much fun in Busy Birds!

The children have had a great time with a huge range of activities. At the beginning of the week the children joined in with an activity where they helped to clean some of the animals, this was a great chance for the children to also learn about hygiene, why we wash our hands and a little about germs as well. The children had a great time looking at the different animals and thinking about where they live as well.

This week the children in busy birds have continued to build those little muscles in their hands with some free drawing as well, the children have been practicing their palmer (whole hand) and tripod grips this week, this helps your child learn how to hold a pencil as they get older to make it a little easier to learn how to write.

In Busy Birds the children have also been really enjoying playing with the duplo as well and engaging their imagination when building a variety of different things, its so lovely to watch the children play and see their little proud faces when they create something amazing!

Pre-School

What a great week we have had in Pre-School!

This week the children have been doing some amazing turn taking and really engaging in some small group work and we have also seen some lovely friendships building.

The children had a great time at the beginning of the week looking at their favourite stories with their friends, this was a great chance for the children to display their similarities and differences and also show a little bit of their individuality. The children also had an amazing time being creative this week, they have been making their very own pirate treasure maps and also making their own puppets to put on a little puppet show for their friends.

This week in Pre-School some of the children had an amazing time making different fun things out of lego, this was a great chance for the children to engage their imagination with some of their favourite things while also practicing turn taking and we also saw some really wonderful conversations.
