We have had a great time in the Annexe this week!
The children have been really enjoying spending lots of time in the garden this week despite the rocky up and down weather. The children had a great, time playing ball games. Playing with balls improves children's motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and timing, which are important parts of the developmental progression.
Towards the end of the week the children were so lucky and got to go and visit with David the duck. One little girl was so excited to see him she could barely contain her enthusiasm and started yelling in excitement. Some of the little ones were a bit unsure but with some support from the team they all got to give David a soft pet.
What an amazing week we have had in Busy Birds!
The children have had a real blast in the garden this week, never ones to be deterred by the rain the children donned their puddle suits and had an amazing time jumping and splashing in different sized puddles seeing how big of a splash they could create.
The children have been playing so nicely and making friends this week, they had a great time in the little house in the garden engaging in some role play and pretending it was their little house to live in. The children have had a blast in the sand pit this week also playing and creating little places for the dinosaurs to play.
Finally Busy Birds got to go on a little walk around the front garden with Jennie to pick some flowers as part of their activity, the children have been really looking at nature with flowers and also doing some painting with herbs where they got to learn about different scents also.
Pre-School have had a really fantastic week!
The highlight of their week was being able to come and visit with David duck, this was such a great learning experience for the children because they were able to look at how he grew and changed over the last couple weeks. They also got a good chance to learn about how he swims and all about the life cycle of different animals.
This week in Pre-School the children have been getting really messy too at times, they really enjoyed exploring with some water beads and bubbles, this was a great chance to learn about some new descriptive words and also gave the children a great chance to engage their imagination when pretending the soapy water was other things like a swamp!
