Imagination!

Under 2's

We have had a great week in the Under 2's!

The children continue to enjoy their time in the garden, this week we saw lots of interest in the boat which is a lovely early interest in engaging their imaginations during play, stepping in and out of the boat also builds some core muscles and helps build those little muscles in their legs which help them learn to walk more steadily and eventually run!

This week in the Under 2's the children have been enjoying some creative activities as well such as free drawing, this sort of fun activity will help the children build up those little muscles in their hands and eventually help them learn to progress from a full handed palmar grip to a three finger tripod grip of their pencils which helps learn with those writing skills later in life.

Busy Birds

What an absolutely wonderful week we have had in Busy Birds!

This week we have seen some wonderful interest in stories this week. Books has always been a fan favourite in Busy Birds but over the last couple weeks we have seen this really blossoming. Stories open up children to wonderful worlds in their imagination, they help with those early interests in reading and also give children a healthy expression for all the thoughts rushing through their mind.

This week in Busy Birds we looked at different marks with the children as well, utilizing jelly and different animals the children thought about sizes and language around it such as big and small, they learned about textures and also little bits about where in the world different animals live.

Pre-School

We have had a real blast in Pre-School this week!

This week the children have really been enjoying the role play clothes, we have seen lots of dressing up which helps the children to learn some independence when it comes to dressing themselves. It has been so lovely to see the children dressing up in lots of fun things such as becoming nurses and fire officers. It was a lovely way for the children to talk about things that they might want to do in the future. Lots of children had interest in being like their Mummy and Daddy. We had a Dr, a 'rocket man' and of course we also had a princess!

The children had a lovely time engaging in some turn taking fun with their friends also while playing some rhyming games. This of course was also a great chance for the children to think about words, what words sound a like and learning what rhyming was. We also had a great time doing some painting in the garden!
