Summer sunshine!
DAISIES
Last week in Daisies, the children have had lots of fun getting messy as always! They really enjoyed sitting inside a big box and painting the inside.
The children have also loved playing on the new ride along tractors and found it very funny pressing the little horn that squeaked.
Daisies have also had lots of the babies do some great waking and have also been trying to run everywhere. On Friday, Daisies went on a trip to Heavitree park! They loved going on the swings, down the slides and there was lots of splashing in the pools.

DRAGONFLIES
Last week in Dragonflies, cars have been our main theme - inside and out.
Outside the children had the ramps and cars out where they practised pushing them down and watching how fast they went! Some children even placed them on the slides! Inside Dragonflies had the garage out where they placed them inside and of course down the ramp.
The children have also got super messy with shaving foam, where we had hidden lots of sequins, so the children had to find them! Dragonflies also had jelly play which the children were amazed by! They spent at least 15 minutes feeling it and of course eating it.
Dragonflies spent lots of time with the babies and the children were so caring, playing with them and giving them extra cuddles.

INCY WINCY SPIDERS
Last week Incy Wincy Spiders enjoyed exploring lots of different things.
One of the children’s favourite was singing songs together. The children showed very good attention and loved catching the bubbles when they were singing ‘Tiny Turtle’.
Incy Wincy Spiders have been reading lots of stories and exploring some of the more sensory books. One of their favourites are the animal books, using their senses to see how different animals feel. The children practised taking turns to touch and feel the different textures within the book.
The children have shown interest in playing with cars again this week. They have had lots of ideas involving and how to drive them. For example, some of the children tested their driving skills in the sand pit, and some on the slide. One child even had a go at driving them over a wooden log.

BUSY BEES
Last week in Busy Bees the children have been super creative!
It began at the start of the week with the children exploring different prints with fruit painting. They used an apple and pear to explore how different fruit can leave different marks. The children chose purple and green paint and each child created a different work of art. Some children painting their Mummies and Daddies while other children painted animals. One little boy even painted a tractor!
The children also tried a new type of painting by mixing flour with food colouring and water. This created puffy paint that expands in the sun. With this the children were able to not only explore how things change but also different textures.
The children also got to do some role play by having a little tea party and even doing some dressing up.

LADYBIRDS
Last week Ladybirds were great little helpers! The children have been fantastic at tidying up whenever its tidy up time.
Ladybirds have been enjoying experimenting with different messy play. First the children had water play with paint and glitter in it which they loved mixing the colours together, exploring. Towards the end of the week Ladybirds had flour with glitter and cars. The children enjoyed exploring making different marks with the wheels and using their fingers to create patterns. They also loved getting messy with the shaving foam, making different patterns and shapes with their hands or cars!
We have also played with the dinosaurs, learning their names and seeing how loudly we can roar!

PRESCHOOL
We had a lovely and very busy week in Preschool.
The children have developed their role play baby area into a whole home and kitchen area as well. There has been lots of very interesting meals today, the adult’s favourite being peas and milk! The children discussed their home life with their friends, what experiences they have of cooking and explore recipes and making lists.
Lots of the children have also been helping the grown-ups today going through all of our puzzles and seeing whether we have bits missing! Some fantastic concentration skills from that group of children doing a helpful job.
The children have been greatly interested in the new change around the Preschool rooms. Preschool have helped to clear out our 'sleep' room and have done lots of small group/ 1:1 work with the children. Preschool have used our new dolls house furniture and people to chat about who they live with and what their houses are like. Lots of the children have talked about having building work done at their houses and this has stemmed Preschool’s sand/ building area in the messy room. The children have been playing so kindly together sharing blocks and taking turns with the builder’s hats and high vis jackets.
The children have a strong interest in the ocean. They have loved being in the underwater book room reading fact and story books based on the sea and the animals found there. Preschool have started looking into recycling as some children have mentioned beach cleans and have some knowledge about rubbish being bad for the animals. Preschool will continue to expand on this next week!
