The Munchkins site was originally bought by Dorothy Bryant in 1955 after founding the International School in 1953
Dorothy became known as the First Lady of English through her passion for teaching English as a foreign language. The International School continued to thrive for 50 years before the doors closed in 2005 and in it's wake Munchkins Day Nursery was born and her vision and legacy has continued to live on in her Grandson Paul.

Paul's vision for Munchkins was to forever try to provide the best for all the children and their families. He did this by striving to find the best, most highly qualified staff. A team that builds excellent relationships with all the children in their care, to engage with them, teach them and most importantly have fun in doing so. Learning to engage, get excited to experience new things, play with their friends, all the things he would want for his own children.
The journey at Munchkins has been one of incredible hard work, ambition and it only continues to grow. We are constantly adapting, learning new things, having big ideas for the future, all the time thinking how can we improve the experience the children receive whilst they are here before they take the big leap to school. Children are brilliant individuals and this is what we at Munchkins love. 'INDIVIDUALS'

Since the founding of Munchkins Paul's vision for the level of care and dedication to the children has been paramount. He strived to have a better understanding of the needs of every child in our care and achieved his Early Years Professional status which is equivalent to an Early Years teacher. He wanted to learn how to get the best out of each child and learning that every child strives to learn, to develop an understanding of what is right and wrong and unlocking the knowledge of how to achieve this has always been something that gave him pride
He continues to encourage children to learn from their experiences much like he has done his own by understanding no child or person is perfect, they make mistakes, and have feelings of frustration. But that it is not the lessons you learn but how you adapt and grow from your experiences. This fundamental knowledge is building block that he wants to give all children while most importantly having fun!
Because here at Munchkins we believe that a happy child learns best and this is the foundation of our everyday learning.
