Daisies have had a super fun week!
The children have been getting messy with some finger painting. Most of the babies loved the feel of the paint on their hands and made some lovely marks with their fingers. Others were a bit unsure so needed lots of encouragement.
Daisies have also been experimenting with mark making by doing some pen drawing and also using the paint brushes and water to make marks on the chalk board.
Daisies also explored some coloured rice. The children loved sprinkling it on to the tray, and then banging their hands in it, making lots of noise!
The children’s favourite game last week was been 'peek-a-boo'. The babies loved hiding behind things and then coming out with a big smile on their faces. It was very funny!
Daisies have also loved all of their new toys, especially the hoops and the big foam blocks! They liked watching the hoops roll around the room and knocking down the big towers of blocks.
Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Dragonflies have been having lots of adventures! The children saw the rabbits and had little cuddles. They were very fascinated and loved feeling the different textured fur! Dragonflies are very sad to see them go!
The children then went and visited the park which they very so excited about!! No other children were in there so they all ran wild. The children showed off their climbing skills, and how brave they were whizzing down the slide head first!
Last week Dragonflies have been loving our new toys! They’ve had ribbon sticks where the children ran around making them fly all around! The children also got a builders table! They were over joyed with this. Dragonflies all crowed around and watched when their friends used the different objects. Of course, the hammers and screwdrivers were a favourite!
Hope everyone a lovely weekend.
Last week in Incy Wincy Spiders, the children had been very interested in the balloons. They have enjoyed playing with them, throwing them around and chasing after them! The children took their interest with balloons mixed them with paint! They had great fun painting with the balloons, squashing them in their hands and bouncing them across the paper! The children were very interested in the marks the balloons left on the paper.
Incy Wincy Spiders also showed an interest in shape play last week. The children experimented with the shape sorters, matching the shapes to the correct holes. They showed a high level of patience, continuing until they found the right hole.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Last week in Busy Bees had so much fun!
The children really enjoyed the new toys that Busy Bees got including space hoppers, a basketball game and connect four. By far their favourite toy was the brand, new tent and tunnel including a fire engine tent! The children really worked on the different ways they could move, crawling into the tunnel and they even practiced slithering like a group of snakes! Of course, the children also did their best siren when driving the fire engine off to their next adventure. One little boy went off to save a cat!
Busy Bees have also been working on their independence. This has meant coming up from the table to collect their own breakfast and lunch and taking their own shoes off, even putting them on again. To help with some independence the children have also been working on tidying up when there is a big mess and putting their shoes in their cubbies.
To bring last week to an end, the children took some time to learn about textures such as dry with the sand pit and then sticky and wet when exploring slime!
Hope everyone had a brilliant weekend!
Ladybirds started off last week very physical. The children had some hula hoops, balls and bean bags and began exploring the equipment and what they could do with it. One little girl who was very good at hula hooping and trying to teach all her peers! Some of the children lined up the hoops and used them to jump in.
In celebrating different nationalities, the children wanted to make some flags. This led on to a conversation about where we were from, looking at the different countries and cultures. The children really enjoyed this activity and one child even told me later in the day he was from space.
Outside the children were engaged with the water, making the cars and balls go down the pipes and back into the water to see how big the splash is! The Ladybirds have also enjoyed mark making with the chalks, exploring the colours and creating beautiful artwork.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Last week Preschool have been looking at different places people can live. The children used photographs of different places around the world and different types of homes which introduced them to the similarities and diversity of homes. They also used the small world dolls people and furniture and did lots of lovely role play with them, using the photographs as point of references when the dolls wanted to visit somewhere new. This gave the children a great opportunity to talk about their home lives, who they live with, where they might have been and their experiences of how they are similar and different to each other.
Preschool have also been looking at animals that live in colder parts of the world. After the early week ice adventure’s, the children have also explored how water changes to ice during the winter and in cold freezers. Combined, Preschool created an icy water land with animals the children thought might live in those areas. They selected polar bears, whales, penguins and a lion?! Preschool were then able to look through our frozen planet book and research on the internet which animals do live in those places.
The children had a great time exploring our learning links, lots of us took part in trying to make a link as long as the garden room! This has been great to extend the children communication skills when talking to each other and helping support team work. Preschool also were able to incorporate some maths into this activity, asking the children to count out so many links and attach it to the end, and seeing whose length of links were the longest/ shortest/ tallest and smallest which introduces new mathematical language to them.
Some of the children have been recapping some of our previous French Lessons, taking the lead of Heidi, our French teacher, asking the children what’s in her bag, "Don le sac?" Great remembering skills from those children which lead to some wonderful group singing games.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
Last week at Munchkins, the children have been getting messy, creative and taking a walk out!
