Having fun with our friends

DAISIES

This week in Daisies, the children have been doing lots of exploring!

They have loved going over to the big garden for a play! Some of them saw friends from other rooms and others saw their siblings. It is so nice to see the babies interacting and having lots of fun with the older children. They loved going down the slide and pretending to steer the boat!

Daisies have also been exploring shredded paper, which was so much fun! The babies made so much mess, but this is a sign of a great time! There was also some good sharing between some of the older babies, they were playing so nicely together.

The children have also been playing with the tea set, pretending to eat all the play food. The tents and tunnels were popular as always, and we have been practicing our throwing and kicking skills with the balls.

Have a lovely weekend!

DRAGONFLIES

This week the children have enjoyed coming back from a lovely long weekend, and most of them had been on holiday the week before so we heard all about it. Some went on aeroplanes, some went to festivals and some even went to the beach!

The Dragonflies have been on many adventures! The children visited the big garden lots and saw their old friends.

Dragonflies then went on a lovely long walk around the quay. It was very rainy, but the children loved it anyway! They went over so many bridges and saw all the swans and geese swimming around. Dragonflies decided to have a little stop and the children had a little picnic in the pushchairs.

Dragonflies have new musical instruments! The favourite was the musical piano. The children were very fascinated how they could make such noise with their feet.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

INCY WINCY SPIDERS

This week, Incy Wincy Spiders have been exploring different types of dried foods. The children enjoyed exploring the textures of spaghetti and rice. They were very strong, snapping the spaghetti in half! Incy Wincys kept picking up the rice with two fingers and filling up cups and pots.

The children have also enjoyed role playing with the dolls this week. They used the rice from the messy play to feed the dolls with their spoons. Incy Wincys have been caring fantastically after their babies, making sure they had lots to drink and putting them to bed, rocking them to sleep.

Have a lovely weekend.

BUSY BEES

This week, Busy Bees has been all about exploration.

It began with flour play on Tuesday. This ended with Busy Bees looking very much like a snowstorm had hit! During this activity the children were able to not only learn different descriptive words but also about the marks they could make using various different movements.

The children then looked a little at different prints by doing wheel painting. The children picked a tractor, a car and a small train. Using these three things they were able to not only look at distant types of prints but Busy Bees also spoke about sizes and how the wheels left different marks.

Sticking with textures, the children also spent lots of time this week in the sand out making sand castles and filling up containers of different sizes.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

LADYBIRDS

Hope you all had a lovely long weekend!

At the beginning of the week, Ladybirds have loved playing with the role play kitchen. The children have been making each other picnics and cups of tea, acting out their own scenarios using their fantastic imagination!

Ladybirds have also loved having stories together. They have been choosing their own, such as; ‘Aliens love Panta Claus’ and the Mog books! The children have enjoyed sharing them with the grown-ups, listening very carefully. Some of them have even been reading the stories to their friends from memory!

The children have been exploring the peg boards. One child picked out only blue for her picture! They have been developing their fine motor skills, picking up each peg independently and lacing it carefully into the board!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

PRESCHOOL

Preschool have had a lovely week.

We have said goodbye to lots of our final school leavers and wish them all the luck for them starting school in the weeks to come. Thank you for all the fun and laughs we have had. Its been a great year and we will miss you lots!

This week Preschool have been focusing on turn taking. The children have played lots of tabletop games, using new resources and timers to support the children's sharing and turn taking.

The children have done some cooking. They wanted to make cakes but decided they were a little caked out with the lovely leaving gifts so after reading lots of traditional stories, the children decided on gingerbread men! Some fabulous measuring and mixing with their hands, rolling out the dough and then cutting out gingerbread shapes. Delicious!

Preschool have made some fantastic neon orange play dough! The children have explored natural materials with this, stamping and mark making into the play dough itself. Also using sticks, lolly sticks and corks to create weird and wonderful food dishes and monsters!!

Some lovely time spent outside building with the large unit blocks, lots of walls and castles being created together as well as water ways and chalk drawing. Munchkins have had a beautiful colourful playground.

Have a lovely weekend!

This week the children have had great fun both inside and outside, with new and old friends, as well as lots of messy and sensory play!
