We have had a very busy week full of laughter while soaking up the last bit of sun in the Annexe.
The children have been working on turn taking the the importance of sharing with their friends. They have also been building friendships amongst their peers while in the garden playing peekaboo from the little house!
Throughout the week in the Annex the children have been not only building lovely bonds with each other but also with the team, we saw the beginnings of some lovely bonds and also saw a bond with a keyworker that continued to thrive throughout the child's time in the Annexe, the team foster these bonds by engaging in activities and playing alongside the children with their choice of favourite things. Keyworker's enable each child to feel secured and cared for helping them to become familiar with the nursery environment and develop confidence and a feeling of security within it.
Have a lovely weekend!
Last week in Busy Birds, the children have been building some really lovely friendships amongst their peers and working a lot on how to communicate their feelings and take turns even with their favourite toys.
Busy Birds have really taken to their new routine and having quiet moments with small group activties. This has really helped the children to form new bonds with each other. Busy Birds are also really enjoying their circle times and learning about what to expect from the days ahead, this has also meant the children can choose to sit next to their best friends!
This week in Busy Birds has seen a lot of dressing up and role play experiences. The importance of role play cannot be overstated in children’s development, especially in their early years. Most importantly, we think, are all the social skills children learn through this type of playtime.
This week the children have turned into, builders, witches, princesses and of course a pirate or two! It has been so lovely to watch them pretending and interacting with each other and the team in their own little characters.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
Last week in Preschool the children have been forming lovely bonds and friendships, as well as engaging in some active learning.
The children have really enjoyed having daily morning circle times where they get a chance to talk about the day ahead, learning about the weather and what day of the week it is. This also gives the children a great opportunity to have some quiet reflective time and learn a bit about taking turns, especially when responding to questions rather than just shouting them out.
We also saw some fantastic den building and even a little bit of dancing from one of our little munchkins when she showed off her best dance moves. When a child enjoys music and learns to dance to its rhythms, it stimulates their brain. This improves their cognitive abilities, as well as their neurological health.
Have a lovely weekend!
