World Heart Day!

Munchkins are celebrating World Heart day!

World Heart Day is celebrated on September 29 every year to inform people around the globe about cardiovascular disease in children and adults.

The children have been celebrating and learning about the heart in a wide variety of different activities. The younger children are enjoying the day by learning with their senses, it wouldn't be an exciting day if there wasn't some sort of messy play in the Annexe! The older group enjoyed exploring gloop that was coloured pink and scattered with some lovely heart sequins while the younger of the children joined in with some painting with heart shaped sponges.

Pre-School on the other hand used this as a more learning experience, looking at what the heart does and the ways in which we can help our hearts be healthy. They looked at how the heart works, how it pumps blood through the body and the effect that healthy eating and exercise has on the body.
