Fun first full week!

ANNEXE

What a lovely week we have had in the Annexe

The children have been settling back in nicely after their Christmas break and getting more accustomed to life in their new rooms, lots of new toys to play with certainly helps! The children have been having a blast doing climbing and practicing their balancing with the ramps and steps and have been mastering going up and down the stairs as well.

One of the best things has definitely been having more access to the big garden which has always been a fan favourite of the little ones. They have been braving it in all weathers by donning their puddle suits and welly boots. The children have been loving the boat and of course the slide!

BUSY BIRDS

The children have had an amazing week in Busy Birds!

Everyone is beginning to settle back into nursery life after a lovely Christmas break and have really enjoyed telling their friends what Santa brought for them from role play kitchens to playdough and other fun toys.

The children in Busy Birds were so excited to see Miss Annabell this week, Twirly Tots has been a favourite of the children in Busy Birds since her first visit and always brings a smile to their faces (the team too!)

While working on learning descriptive words and building little muscles in their hands which will help them learn to hold a pen and pencil in the future the children have also been exploring shaving foam in the garden, as well all know Busy Birds are big fans of messy play!

PRE-SCHOOL

What a fun week we have had in Pre-School!

The children have all settled back into their daily routine after a long break for Christmas and we have even seen and welcomed in some new faces!

This week the children have been working on sorting through and organizing different shapes into piles, this has really helped the children learn to identify the shapes they see and beginning to understand more about similarities and differences, rectangles and squares look similar but they are different shapes.

The children have also been working on building the hand eye co-ordination with a little bit of fine motor skill work while doing threading activities the children took turns to thread different sized beads onto string.
