Let’s get creative!

DAISIES

Last week in Daisies, the children have been exploring the dark den! The babies weren't too sure about it at first, but they got braver as the week went on, and it was soon their favourite place to be!! They loved talking to each other inside it and played 'peek-a-boo' through the little window!

Daisies have also been practicing our pincer grips, by playing with some rice and sand. The children were very good at picking little bits up.

Daisies also spent some time in the garden, where they did lots of climbing on the little climbing frame!! It was also interesting watching the builders at the houses opposite.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

DRAGONFLIES

Dragonflies were very lucky to be able to go on another trip!!! So, the children went to visit the library and the Rougemont gardens. The children had so much fun at the library, where they enjoyed exploring everywhere!! Some children were very confident at climbing up the soft play area and would sit there flicking through the books, others loved the tunnels and mirrors in the corner. After the library Dragonflies went to visit the garden where they all walked around. The children had a few snacks and then found lots of pine cones. Dragonflies had 5 very sleepy children when we came back!

Last week in Dragonflies, the children have been practising their everyday words and the weather helped. They started off saying the sun is "hot" and how they "open" the doors, and of course the rain came so that was very "wet!".

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

INCY WINCY SPIDERS

Incy Wincy Spiders had a lovely last week. The children loved playing in the garden every day! In particular the sand pits were a big favourite, cooking up some delicious treats. They also had great fun practising and developing their physical skills by climbing the wall to get to the top of the house!

Incy Wincy Spiders have spent some time together with Ladybirds last week! The children have been learning lots of things from the older children. They had great fun hopping to sleeping bunnies together! Incy Wincy Spiders loved being cared for and looked after by the older children, especially when they sat and read us a story.

The children also using their senses and creativity to explore different materials when painting! They loved getting messy creating a beautiful picture and sticking down all the glitter, rice and wooden pieces. There was even cornflour which one little girl told us it was sugar!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

BUSY BEES

Last week in Busy Bees, the children got a bit more daring!

Some of the little Busy Bees enlisted the help of the older ones to learn to use the climbing wall. There were also some new friendships forming with some of the new Busy Bees. The older children took them under their wings to help and show them around the garden. It was really sweet to see them holding hands and encouraging them to play on the slide and in the sand pit.

In Busy Bees, the children also learned about different foods - what was healthy and what wasn't when playing with our little toy pie maker.

What a great week!

LADYBIRDS

Ladybirds have been focusing on art and design last week!

The children have been looking at the different marks they can make. They used sponges and brushes to make marks, then Ladybirds did some painting and added some different textures! The children had coloured rice, corn flour, glitter and shredded paper. They loved adding this to their creations and exploring the textures. The children told me the rice was bumpy when it had been stuck on to their painting! One child told me all the colours and when mixing some colours told me he had made purple!

Ladybirds have spent a lot of time with their friends in Incy's last week! This led to some lovely interactions with one of the older children taking one of the Incy's under her wing. She was reading him stories and holding his hand leading him to activities.

Hope you had a fab weekend!

PRESCHOOL

Last week Preschool have done lots of exploring and investigating. The children have been out in small groups into the garden and hunted for bugs. They looked at them closely and talked about similarities and differences between them.

A lot of children have worked on trying to retell the story of 'The Gruffalo'. They have set up a wood with cones, grass, branches and logs in for the homes of the various characters! The children have had to take turns and share the soft toys. They have used their listening skills to listen to what each of the characters say and then have tried to join in with the refrains. Some of Preschool have managed to fill in missing words at the end of the line.

Some of Preschools younger children have been telling us what they would like to play with as the team have been encouraging them to become more independent and choosing their own toys and equipment themselves. They have also tried to tell the grown-ups stories as they engage in imaginary play!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Last week our Munchkins have been getting up to lots of creative play, both with mess, their senses and their imaginations!
