Sunshine, Smiles & So Much Learning!

What a wonderful week we’ve had at nursery! With the weather finally perking up, the children have been making the very most of the sunshine and fresh air.

Our Pre-School children challenged themselves on the climbing dome, building strength, confidence and resilience as they navigated new heights. Busy Birds zoomed around on the bikes, developing coordination, balance and those all-important gross motor skills all while giggling with their friends. And every room enjoyed the simple joy of afternoon snack in the garden, sharing conversations and laughter under blue skies.

Outdoor play isn’t just fun (although there’s plenty of that!) it’s essential for children’s health and development. Time outside supports physical wellbeing, strengthens muscles and bones, boosts the immune system, and provides valuable Vitamin D from natural sunlight. Fresh air can improve mood, concentration and sleep, while open-ended outdoor environments spark imagination, problem-solving and teamwork.

We truly believe children benefit from experiencing all weathers whether it’s sunshine, wind, drizzle or crisp winter air. Each season brings new learning opportunities, new sensory experiences, and new ways to explore the world around them. Being outdoors helps children build resilience, adaptability and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

There’s something very special about watching children thrive in the fresh air, with rosy cheeks, muddy knees, and the biggest smiles.

Here’s to many more sunny afternoons in the garden!
